SUBMITTING WORK
HOW MANY WORKS SHOULD I SUBMIT?
Students are permitted to submit three entries per area. Series can be submitted as one entry, but the entire series may not be shown depending on space available. While we have absolutely no minimum number required, nor do we give an advantage to those who submit more, it is helpful to have a few from to select. Our jurors often gain insight into one work by seeing it in context with a few others by the same artist. We routinely accept pairs or sets of work by artists once they are determined to be a finalist.
Detail images should only be included if truly necessary for understanding the nature or quality of the artwork and these files must be named as instructed below.
WHO IS THE JUROR?
Amna Asghar, lives and works in Detroit, MI and the Bronx, NY. She received an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014 and a BFA from Michigan State University in 2007. She has shown at Klaus von Nichtssagend, New York, NY; Super Dutchess, New York, NY; Hotel Art Pavilion, Brooklyn, NY; Hawkeye Crates, Brooklyn, NY; NARS Foundation, Brooklyn, NY; Knockdown Center, Queens, NY; Washington Project for the Arts, Washington, DC; Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, CO; Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC and Para Site, Hong Kong, CN.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING VIDEO, MOTION, and INTERACTIVE, ENTRIES or DETAILS
(SCENE) Metrospace requests that all video or interactive submissions, or video details illustrating an entry, be in the form of a link to a viewable online copy of each work AND a single representative jpeg image. The work should be shown online in its full length. It is understood that online versions of video files may be lower quality than those expected for exhibition in the gallery due to compression and Internet formatting.
Note that a jpeg still image should still be submitted to represent the entry in addition to the video material, and this file name should include the term ‘video’.
Video links should be provided on the entry form for each work in the VIEWING LINK section, and should link directly to online or downloadable content that does NOT require a login, password or membership to view. These may be in the form of Youtube or Vimeo. Effort should be made to eliminate confusion or extraneous information that may interfere with the jury’s viewing of the work. Any extraneous information, or material not considered to be ‘the work’ will inevitably detract from the jury score for that work.
Links to video entries must remain valid and active through the notification of jury results.
