Comic Art & Graphic Novels
MINOR
In the Comic Art & Graphic Novels Minor students become knowledgeable in narrative thinking as a means to identify problems and create possible solutions. Comics and Graphic Novels use the art of communicating a sequence of events through visual methods. Course projects range in medium, content and collaborative opportunity, while enabling students to practice both traditional and innovative digital means of creating comics. The minor in Comic Art and Graphic Novels offers students the opportunity to have introductory exposure to concepts, vocabulary, and methods of the discipline of sequential art.
This minor is available as an elective to students who are enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs at Michigan State University. There is no formal application procedure. Please contact Art, Art History, and Design adviser Erica Hooker at hookere2@msu.edu to have the minor added to your degree.
