My art is a way for me to look into the past. I created this work to have a dialogue with myself to be able to get through a specific situation. I created this work as a time stamp, to see these objects in the future and see how things have gotten better than what they once were. In my art I want to show vulnerability from the lens of a black queer man navigating life without the neccasary guidance one may receive if they were straight.

I paint self portraits in intimate settings. I use the language of flowers to convey different emotions and messages. Each flower or bouquet has its own meaning and can directly affect how something is perceived. I intend to have the viewer think twice about my art and look past the beautiful and really think about the deeper meaning of my work.
