(SCENE) Metrospace | October 25-November 22
Reception: Friday, October 25, 5-7pm
Vitalize features works by the most recent additions to our faculty in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design whose creative voices bring new energy to the Michigan State University campus and the Greater Lansing community in general. Working in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, new media, and printmaking, the artists explore themes of memory, loss, sense of place, aspects of disability, the relationship between humans and the natural world, and grief and healing. The exhibition is introspective and reflective. Calling on the viewer to contemplate systems in society and personal narratives, Vitalize is layered with sensitivity and poignance that unearths realms of human experience. Together, there is strength in stories.
Vitalize celebrates work by Andrea Allen, Gustavo Uriel Ayala, CaraMia Bertoni, Chloe Crawford, Lorelei d’Andriole, Barbara Pearsall, Emily Potts, Nathan Prebonick, Rafael Villares, and Jamie Weinfurter
