‘Spartan Skin’ Exhibit Features Work by Artist-in-Residence in Critical Race Studies

After careful analysis of Michigan State University’s iconic Spartan statue, Young Joon Kwak, 2020-2021 Artist-in-Residence in Critical Race Studies at MSU, re-imaged the statue to create the Spartan Skin exhibit, which opened to the public April 9 at the MSU Union Art Gallery and will be on display through May 21.

Varg-Sullivan Graduate Award Winners Announced

Each year, the College of Arts & Letters presents two Varg-Sullivan Endowed Graduate Awards to graduate students for their outstanding achievement in the arts or letters. This year’s winners are Nicolei Gupit, Outstanding Achievement in the Arts recipient, and Giovanni Salazar Calvo, Outstanding Achievement in the Letters recipient.
