Outside of the classroom, faculty members in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design are active artists and scholars that make significant contributions to the arts.

They regularly exhibit in venues across the globe, from Michigan to New York to South Korea and speak at major conferences in their fields. Collectively, our faculty have received recognition and support from Fulbright, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Pollack-Krasner Foundation.

The Department of Art, Art History, and Design Faculty Triennial Exhibition provides students and the public an opportunity to view recent work created by the tenure stream Department of Art, Art History, and Design Faculty members whose primary research output is studio based. In conjunction with the Faculty Triennial Exhibition, faculty members teaching in Art History & Visual Culture and Apparel & Textile Design present their scholarly research in a series of lectures through the year.

The next Department of Art, Art History, and Design Faculty Triennial Exhibition is scheduled for March 17, 2018- May 13, 2018 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. The 2018 Faculty Triennial Exhibition will be celebrated in a joint reception with the 2018 MFA Exhibition on Saturday, April 8, 6-8pm at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.
