Innovation Meets Inclusion: MSU Students Design Adaptive Fashions for New York City Runway

Four Michigan State University students stepped into the spotlight in New York City as featured designers at the 2025 "iCAN Do Anything" Fashion Show hosted by the International Institute for the Brain (iBRAIN) to celebrate and promote adaptive and inclusive fashion. The MSU students — Jillian Kelly, Tristian Laney, Rico Seatts, and Reagan Wiley — all majoring in Apparel and Textile Design (ATD), were among a select group of designers who created custom adaptive garments for students with brain-based disabilities.

Several College Projects Supported by HARP Development and Production Awards

Projects by College of Arts & Letters faculty, ranging from a linguistic course, to traveling exhibitions, to books on a range of subjects, received support this year from Humanities and Arts Research Program (HARP) Development or Production Awards. Funding for these HARP Grants is provided, in part, through the Michigan State University Research Foundation.

MSU Graphic Design Graduate Crowned Miss Michigan 2023

Maya Schuhknecht, a Spring 2023 Michigan State University graduate with a BFA in Graphic Design, was crowned Miss Michigan 2023 on Saturday, June 17, at the Frauenthal Theater in downtown Muskegon following a three-day competition.  Along with the crown, sash, and Miss Michigan 2023 title, Schuhknecht, who is from Buchanan, Michigan, received $10,000 in scholarships.
